Housing

HOUSING SUPPORTED BY ADULT SUPERVISION.

Indentifying and selecting the children.

Initially housing will accommodate up to 60 children perceived by trained Tanzanian staff to be at the greatest risk of failing to attain normal adult behaviors. Evaluations that measure health, educational, social, behavioral, and economic factors will be used to determine a child’s overall risk level.

Benefits of the orphan houses.

A safe and nurturing living environment will be provided by house parents and live in volunteers. House parents whose own children are grown up will be drawn from Mahida and other local villages. Children will be given tutoring, nutritious meals, adequate medical care, counseling, and guidance on how to cope with life’s challenges, and the opportunity to grow spiritually.
